7-Week Pottery Course: Handbuilding, Wheel Work & Glazing
Wednesdays 10am–12pm | Starting July 30

Discover the joy of clay in this relaxed and creative 7-week course that combines handbuilding, pottery wheel work, and a final glazing session. Whether you're a complete beginner or returning to clay, you'll learn core techniques at your own pace in a warm, welcoming studio.
Led by experienced ceramic artist Leanne Doble, this course is designed to build skills progressively while giving you space to explore your creativity. The final week is reserved for glazing your fired work, with a short break in between for drying and kiln time.
Course Schedule
Wednesdays 10am–12pm
Week 1 – July 30: Pinch pot technique
Week 2 – August 6: Coil method
Week 3 – August 13: Slab method
Week 4 – August 20: Pottery wheel – Intro to wedging & centering
Week 5 – August 27: Pottery wheel – Throwing basic forms
Week 6 – September 3: Pottery wheel – Continue throwing & refining
September 10: No class – work will be dried and fired
Week 7 – September 17: Glaze Day – Learn glazing techniques and finish your pieces

Age Requirement: Open to adults and teens (14+). Participants under 18 must attend with a paying parent/guardian.
Class Minimum: A minimum of 4 participants is required. If the class doesn’t reach capacity, we’ll contact you with alternative options or issue a refund.
Firing Allowance: Up to 2kg of work per student is included. Additional pieces can be fired at $10 per kilo.
Pickup: Finished pieces will be ready for collection 4-6 weeks after the course ends.
What to Bring
Clothing: Comfortable attire that can get messy; an apron or towel is recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required. The space is industrial, so dress accordingly for the season.
Nails: Shorter nails are advised for easier handling of clay.
A Few Notes
Attendance: Missed sessions cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
Punctuality: Sessions include setup and cleanup—arriving late means missing part of the class. Please notify us if you’re delayed.
Photography: We may take photos for promotional purposes. Let us know if you prefer not to be photographed.
